SUMMER
Valsugana is rich in woods, fertile fields and lakes where you can swim, such as Lake Levico and Lake Caldonazzo, the biggest one in Trentino. This area includes the Lagorai mountain chain with its wild nature, the pleasant Vigolana plateau, the Tesino basin and the Valle dei Mocheni.
If you love outdoor activities, like excursions in the mountains or mountain biking and even climbing, Valsugana is like your natural training ground with a vast network of trails and high altitude mountain huts. It can boast a beautiful cycling track along the Brenta river, a bridle path and the possibility to try Nordic walking.
At Lake Caldonazzo you can go canoeing, dragon boat sailing, as well as waterskiing.
At the Valsugana spa centres, your relaxation and your well-being are guaranteed. Levico Terme has been an elegant treatment centre since the 19th century, an important Central European tourist destination, and it boasts hotels equipped with modern wellness areas. The curative water used in the Spa Centre of Vetriolo comes directly from the nearby mountain. Roncegno Terme is now a centre focused mainly on natural therapies.
If you spend your holidays in Valsugana, you can visit old villages, churches, houses and palaces which preserve the typical Belle Epoque charm, as well as Arte Sella, an evocative exhibition of “natural” pieces of art in the woods of Val di Sella.
There are many activities to do with children as well, with specific programs for them and their parents.
WINTER
In winter you can ski in an oasis of pleasure in the breathtaking scenario of the Lagorai mountain range.
Valsugana and its ski areas are ideal for families: on Panarotta and Passo Brocòn children can enjoy games and perfectly fluffy ski slopes under the sun where they can learn to ski with the help of specialised ski-instructors.
Alternative skiing offers various possibilities: from ski mountaineering, which allows you to appreciate the beauty of the Lagorai mountain range and Cima d’Asta, to snowshoe hikes, for a more natural approach to the mountains. Not to mention cross-country skiing, which can be done on the long slopes of the infinitely vast Vezzena plateau or out of the beaten tracks for the experts. Snowboarders can enjoy the big Lagorai Park in Passo Brocon.
Valsugana offers various ice-skating rinks: Caldonazzo, Pergine, Canezza and the famous Ice-Rink in Baselga di Pinè.
You can relax and rest at the end of the day in the welcoming and renewed spa centres of Levico, Vetriolo and Roncegno.
